ARES MONTHLY MEETING
APRIL 2014
The ARES monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Emergency Operations Center, Green Cove Springs, FL.
Adrian Gray, Clay County Emergency Coordinator, called the meeting to order, introductions were made and visitors were welcomed.
Also, members were reminded of the upcoming election at the end of April.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
The paper work required to transfer the treasurer at the bank has been completed.
The net worth as of 3/31/14 is as follows:
Checking $117.25
Savings $400.29
TOTAL: $517.54
OLD BUSINESS
Joe Bassett said the message training will continue next month.
All members are reminded to submit their monthly reports in a timely manner.
NEW BUSINESS
Joe Bassett shared that the narrative section in the 5013C process is part of the process.
Mike Hendershot asked for volunteers for the upcoming Tour de Fort bike ride on April 27, 2014. At least 8 volunteers will be needed.
OPERATIONS
We are looking at perhaps doing a training event in either May or June of this year. If you have an idea, please let the board members know.
Mike Hendershot and Scott Roberts are working with the Marine Patrol and Clay County Sheriff’s Office to set up APRS. This should open doors with Search and Rescue and other departments.
Field Day will be on June 27-28, 2014 at the Orange Park High School, Orange Park, FL. We need more publicity as to ARES can do. This is a joint operation with the OPARC club.
PROGRAM
Joe Bassett continued the packet training, and emphasized that the net control training will “piggyback” on the training begun in 2013.
