ARES MONTHLY MEETING
February 2014

            The ARES monthly meeting was held on Tuesday, February 4, 2014, at the Fleming Island Public Library, Fleming Island, Florida.

Adrian Gray, Clay County Emergency Coordinator, called the meeting to order, introductions were made and15 members were present.

He also introduced the new Board members, Perry Ward and Dave Smith, as well as the new Treasurer, Jim Winfrey, and the new Secretary, Kasey Tate.

TREASURER’S REPORT:

The paper work required to transfer the treasurer at the bank has been completed.

The net worth as of 1/31/14 is as follows:

Checking                  117.25
Savings                     400.29
TOTAL:                     517.54

OLD BUSINESS

Liability insurance has been paid and the application filed. — Mike Hendershot said we are now covered for the bike events.

All members are reminded to submit their monthly reports in a timely manner.

NEW BUSINESS

Mark Wolff, N4MEW, Duval County ARES, talked about the upcoming River Run and the 26.2 with Donna.  Assistance for these races would be appreciated.

David Elmore mentioned a new program dealing with EMP’s, and that threat is a now bigger than ever.

OPERATIONS

APRS functions are assisting the Coast Guard Auxiliary locally.  The local auxiliary are on board and need a control operator for the field operations.

PROGRAM

Joe Bassett continued the packet training, and emphasized that the net control training will “piggyback” on the training begun in 2013.
