ClayARES Set to Level 3 – TS Eta

Update: KI4UWC secured from LEVEL 3 and returned to normal amateur use at 0900 12 NOV, 2020.

The ClayARES 146.925 MHz repeater will assume LEVEL 3 Monitoring Status at 2200EST 11 NOV 2020 (0300Z 12 NOV 2020). There are no plans to activate a net, however a net will be called should conditions dictate.

All stations are encouraged to monitor the Sleepy Hollow repeater and report conditions as warranted. As always, DO NOT transmit information or conditions that are not verified. Avoid suppositions, conjecture, and editorializing on news or other reports.

Also, SKYWARN has not been activated. If you have observed conditions to report to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville please report it at https://www.weather.gov/jax/submitstormreport. If the internet is not accessible, please feel free to pass that information on air.

Hurricane Relief and Response Frequencies

Hurricane season is in full effect and two systems, Laura and Marco, are active in the Atlantic tropics with US landfall expected within the week. Both HF and listen only options are available for those stations that would like to monitor amateur radio activity and provide assistance when necessary.

ICS-213 Shelter Report Block Format

Occasionally a station may be asked to relay a pro-forma message, such as the ICS-213 Shelter Report, but might not have a blank hardcopy of the form to copy the message. In that case, the relaying station can copy the message in a block format. Attached are two examples of the ICS-213 Shelter Report.
