26.2 Donna Marathon — (Duval County ARES)

On February 12, Duval County ARES will be supporting the 2017 26.2 Donna Marathon. For those not familiar with the event, it is certainly one of the most important and largest attended marathons in the region raising funding to support Breast Cancer research. It is that time of year — the 2016 Member Appreciation Dinner will be held on December 6th at 7pm at Journey Church located at 6225 Lake Gray Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32244 (Click the address for a map). We have an exciting event planned for this year as we review the events of 2016, find out the results of this years voting for Board member, find out who the “Ham of the Year” will be, and have some great food. The First Annual ClayARES 2 Meter Contest

On November 5th ClayARES will be conducting its first ever 2 meter contest. We’ll make as many contacts in different zip codes as possible, with only the 2M simplex mode using 100 watts maximum! It’s a great chance to learn the USNG system, how to pass and relay information, conquer “Mic Fright”, and meet new friends.
