Hurricane Ida ARRL Louisiana Section Nets

With the landfall of Hurricane Ida many stations will be looking to assist in the aftermath. The following information is listed so that all stations may assist with relief efforts ONLY when appropriate. Stations with Technician class privileges can monitor traffic into and out of the affected areas via Echolink node *ARERT*. This is a listen only.

The following frequencies are available for General class and higher privileges. Please remember to offer assistance ONLY when you are sure that your help will be of benefit. DO NOT CHECK INTO THESE NETS OR TRANSMIT ON THESE FREQUENCIES UNLESS SPECIFICALLY DIRECTED BY NET CONTROL.

Hurricane Watch Net – 14.325 MHz / 7.268 MHz as needed

Gulf Coast Hurricane Net – 3.935 MHz Daily 2000 CDT

Gulf Coast Sideband Net – 3.295 MHz Daily 1930 CDT

Louisiana Traffic Net NTS – 3.910 MHz M, W, F, Sun 1800 CDT

Louisiana Section ARES Net – 3.878 MHz Sun 1930 CDT

Louisiana ARES – 7.255 MHz +/- 10 MHz as needed (ongoing)

Southwest Traffic Net – 3.935 MHz

The First Annual ClayARES 2 Meter Contest

On November 5th ClayARES will be conducting its first ever 2 meter contest. We’ll make as many contacts in different zip codes as possible, with only the 2M simplex mode using 100 watts maximum! It’s a great chance to learn the USNG system, how to pass and relay information, conquer “Mic Fright”, and meet new friends.
